Easy Fall Tablescape

by ourcontentedhome 6 Comments

Tablescapes are something that I have grown to love. I love the ones that are easy and budget friendly. Here is my easy, fall tablescape.

Autumn is a wonderful time to decorate your tables and make them colorful and cozy for all of your loved ones that will be gathered around them soon. To me, a festive table just adds to the meal and the atmosphere of the people gathered.

Tablescapes are not something that I have always tried my hand at. However, until recently I had never hosted a holiday gathering.

We hosted Christmas last year right after we moved into our home but I did not create a tablescape. I barely had enough entertaining pieces and I am still trying to build up some things little by little.

This year, I decided to try my hand at an easy, fall tablescape that was easy on the budget.

For my tablescape I knew that I wanted it to be budget friendly so I started with a base. You can use a runner or a tablecloth for this part, but I chose to use cheesecloth. I think that it has a beautiful look and adds to the cozy feeling that I am going for in this tablescape.

I just added it to the table and I prefer mine to be scrunched up and wrinkled. You could also lay it out straight.

Next I add floral stems. I picked up 4 stems from Hobby Lobby but I found some similar here and here. I added my stems onto the cheesecloth and laid one down and then added the flowers of the second stem on top of the stem of the first one. This way I could cover up most of the stem so that it would not show as much.

The next step was to add in my layers. I chose to use these amber, glass pumpkins from the Dollar Tree. These glass pumpkins were going to be a DIY, but I loved the color for fall so I just left them this way. Four of these pumpkins were placed diagonally across from each other on each side of the table.

Here are some beautiful, glass pumpkins here that you could use instead.

These little turkey candleholders were a lucky thrifting find several years ago. I found four little turkey candleholders and a box of taper candles. I never have had a chance to use them but I thought today was a perfect day to set them on the table. These turkeys look right at home tucked opposite the pumpkins.

I found some of these turkey candleholders here, here and here.

I placed a rust colored mum in a basket and it took center stage right in the middle of the table.

Lastly, I added my favorite element to anything that I decorate and that is twinkle lights! I love the twinkle lights with timers or remote control. You don’t even have to worry about them. I tucked the battery pack into the basket with the mum.

There you have it! An easy fall tablescape that is festive, colorful and budget friendly. Do you think that you will try your hand at a tablescape?
